Most rides blur together after a while.

But every driver seems to have at least one ride they never forget.

Maybe it was something funny.
Maybe something strange happened.
Maybe a passenger said something that stuck with you.

Drivers and passengers both have moments like that.

What’s one ride you still remember years later?

One ride I still think about happened late one night when I picked up a couple – a large guy who was clearly intoxicated and his wife, who was sober.

The ride started out normal, but the guy in the back was talking complete gibberish the whole time. After a few minutes he started getting irritated about something I couldn’t even understand. He was mumbling and getting louder as we drove.

Right as I was going through a major intersection, he suddenly leaned forward and swung, hitting the right side of my face from the front passenger seat.

His wife immediately lost her mind and started yelling at him, apologizing over and over. The whole thing happened so fast I barely processed it.

I kept the car steady, finished the ride, and got them home safely. After that I reported the incident to Lyft through the app.

I never saw them again.

It’s one of those rides that sticks with you because everything went from normal to chaotic in a split second.

That ride stuck with me mostly because of how fast everything changed.

One second it was just another normal trip and the next second I was getting hit while driving through an intersection.

Moments like that remind you how unpredictable rideshare can be sometimes.
